One of the highlights of my recent trip to New York was the trip to Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Kips Bay is a Boys and Girls club that focuses on youth development. Every year, the most celebrated interior designers in New York come together to decorate these show homes to raise much needed funds for after school and enrichment programs for kids. It is seen as a launch pad for decor trends throughout the world and after our tour, I can see why. I can tell you that I have never been so inspired, so speechless walking through the homes. Every little detail was thought of- every piece of hardware, trim, moulding was carefully thought out and planned; all in four weeks time. Yes, that’s right, four weeks. Here are a few fun snapshots, but you can check out my Facebook page for a more complete album. I apologize for the picture quality, I brought my Nikon, but forgot the battery. Genius.
1. Stripes, leopard and zebras 2. Gentleman’s room 3. I was in love with the kelly green lacquered walls! 4. One of my favorite rooms- the library 5. My kind of fridge! 6. Glossy white cabinets and gold hardware, I can’t even handle it 7. Wonderfully accessorized office space including navy M&M’s to match the color scheme 8. My new favorite wall color….
If you are in the New York area in the next few days, please go check it out! You’ll leave wanting to redecorate your whole home!
