Did you get a chance to catch the Oscars last night? I did, but I have to admit I fast forward through quite a bit. After a night of having a bit too much fun celebrating my birthday with my best friends, I opted to stay put on the sofa.
I always find it hard to pick my favourites because I lean towards the actresses that I actually like. But I’ll try to be unbiased :) Especially after Angelina’s whole “pose” thing while presenting. Is she for real?! Ugh, I found that so irritating. But the guy that mocked her right after? Hilarious!! That must have stung Angelina. Anyways, here goes:
Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli
Natalie Portman in vintage Dior & Harry Winston (1954)
Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive & Lorraine Schwartz
Cameron Diaz in Gucci
Giuliana Rancic in Basil Soda
Nina Dobrev at Elton John's Oscar bash
Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace
And the best dressed of the evening is Gwyneth in Tom Ford. Holy cape! She looked stunning, effortless and chic!

I’ve been slowly gravitating towards the printed pant trend. There are so many options now that it seems like every designer or store is jumping on the band wagon. I tend to lean towards the printed denim and I also love a great floral print. I’d pair any of these with a t-shirt and wedges or a blouse and stiletto’s. Which ones are your favourite? Would you try bold printed pants? I’m dying for the black and white floral jeans by J Brand!

Happy Birthday to me! It’s a bit of a gloomy day out but I’ll still be celebrating today. In the past I’ve always dreaded getting a little older, but I’ve actually begun to embrace it. So in honour of my day of birth, I’ll be pampering myself with a mani, getting my hair done, working and enjoying a fabulous dinner at Ki tonight with my man. I hope you all have a splendid day, I’m off to enjoy a cupcake or two! :)
Images are my own (yes, that’s me and I had a die hard Dirty Dancing obsession)
I’ve been working hard trying to find the perfect pieces for some photo shoots occurring next week. I’m also trying to keep in mind how I want the overall look to feel. So I hunt and I hunt for inspiration online, outside, inside and all over. Not necessarily for the photo shoots, but here are a few things that I’m currently obsessing over.
P.S. If you get the chance, please hop over to the e-magazine Home Decor and Renovations and check out an article I wrote about decorating your perfect entryway! Page 38….

These photos of Adele in the upcoming issue of Vogue are so stunning, I can’t stop staring at them. I was so happy for her and proud that she swept the Grammys this past weekend because she sincerely deserved it. Her performance was breath taking and she didn’t miss a beat. I was watching Twitter stream throughout the show and people kept commenting on how she didn’t need any bulls-t gimmicks, fire, dancers, blue crimped hair and a creepy video of her on the ceiling (t-r-a-i-n-w-r-e-c-k) to rock that place. And it’s so true, I wholeheartedly agree. Her voice is all I needed. Best performance hands down. I’ll be first in line if her tour ever stops in Vancouver again. The black and white outfit above is my favourite photo!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone’s day is romantic, lovey and mush filled! Sorry if I’ve made anyone nauseous. But I truly hope you can spend the day with the ones you love whether it be your partner, husband, wife, Mom, Dad, grandparents and best friends! I’ll be working today, but spending tonight at home making a steak dinner with the love of my life. Cheers to love!
Check out these awesome Valentine’s on Kate Spade’s site. This one above was designed by my Blogshop teacher, the lovely Bri Emery of Design Lovefest. And the “gem” one above was designed by Dana Lucas. Check them all out here.

So I’ve changed my mind. And I’m sure I’ll do it again. But here is my newest inspiration for our bedroom colour scheme. I first came across this colour palette in a shirt I have from Aritzia and that got the ball rolling for me (funny where inspiration comes from huh?) Then I saw this on Pinterest and it’s been solidified. Sold. Finito….. Well, maybe. :)
