For the past few weeks I have been scouring the city for the best Christmas tree decor, so I thought I would share where I found the best selection. I was surprised to find that all of the ornaments from every store were quite similar in price. I usually tend to get my balls in bulk from more cost effective places like Superstore and The Bay.
The Bay has probably the largest selection that I found. I love how they have divided their sections carefully. There is a traditional section filled with Nutcrackers, teddy bears and balls in reds, greens and golds. There’s a woodland section with creams, taupes and greys. I really liked the Gluckstein collection. He has ornaments in more neutral colours for the customer who doesn’t want their place to scream “CHRISTMAS!” They also have a winter wonderland theme with turquoise and whites. Finally, there are two sections devoted to purples and greens. All of the ornaments are very classy and will last for years and years.
Chintz had some great decor. Their style is a little more eclectic than The Bay. There are A LOT of colours to chose from and all different kinds of ornaments. I did find them to be a bit pricey, but hopefully they will have a sale before the Christmas. I love the turquoise balls in the tree above!
Restoration Hardware had a few token ornaments. They were definitely more on the vintage-y side, but true to Restoration’s style. I loved the gold glass balls.
Michael’s is probably one of the best places to hit up if you want variety and lots of different colours. They have everything in any colour. That’s where I got most of my decor for my hotel tree. They have all these glittery fruits and berries that are really beautiful. My mom started decorating our family tree like that so I pulled inspiration from hers to complete the hotel tree. They also have beautiful garlands and the BEST selection of ribbon oh my!
The Cross has beautiful vintage style ornaments and decor. There are a few different colours to chose from, mainly turquoise, golds and reds. The white tree at the back of the store is amazing. I tried to capture the best of it in my picture above, but it just doesn’t do it justice. Go take a peek in store.
I hope that you have a fabulous time shopping for your decor and decorating your tree. I hope that this information helped a bit too. Also, a friendly little reminder that if you’re in the downtown neighbourhood, please vote for my tree at the Sutton Place Hotel! The proceeds go to a wonderful cause, the PALS Autism School. You have until January 3rd!
